Our Story

Proof that even the cheesiest lines can lead to forever.

It all started with a cheesy Facebook message on July 11, 2023 - the kind you'd usually ignore, but for some reason... didn't. One week later, we had our first date at Jacob's apartment in Los Alamos. He called me a "reverse catfish," which at that point all I heard was "catfish" and was extremely offended, until he explained that he meant I looked better in person than online... (nice save.) He proceeded to serve me undercooked steak (I like it well done), and somehow still managed to ask me to be his girlfriend by the end of the night. I decided to make it "official" on August 6th, after I met his family, despite his mom calling me Abby and his best friends warning me that his dad would be the one and only reason we would ever potentially break up (anyone that knows Dave gets it) Plus Jacob and I have a mutual love for burgers with cheese and ketchup only… priorities right? From there, things moved quickly in the best way. We had already said "I love you" after just our second date, proving that when you know, you really know. (BTW you REALLY know someone is the one when your dad spends more time talking to them about hunting than catching up with his daughter - jokes... kind of.) It's surprising he stuck around after meeting my mom for the first time and one of the first questions she asked him was if he had foot fungus... - (way to sell we're a nice, normal family mom.) Eleven months later, we moved in together because the driving back and forth from Los Lunas to Los Alamos wasn't cutting it. After moving in together we easily built a life full of adventure to include: hunting, fishing (he makes me tie my own fishing knots now, even though my dad did it for me my whole life - I know, unbelievable right?), traveling, and most importantly laughing at each other all day everyday & when I tell you there is rarely a free weekend of relaxation - I mean that (we complain we don't have time to just be home but we keep scheduling things to do - fine... it's me that keeps scheduling things.) Then came July 22, 2025. Picture this: Oceanside, California. a beautiful beach. a completely oblivious bride-to-be... and Jacob patiently on one knee while I took my sweet time noticing. (Spoiler alert: I said yes!) Now we're getting married, and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate this wild, wonderful love story with all of you - the people who have laughed with us, supported us, and maybe even helped cook steaks properly along the way.
