We met on the school bus on our way to Suitland High School. Since we were in a specialty program and the school was out of our zone, our bus came very early in the morning. I was not a morning person by any means. Asa was my personal alarm clock and always texted me to make sure I was awake and to let me know when the bus was coming to my stop. As I ran down the street I could see him holding the bus telling the driver to wait for me. From then on, a beautiful friendship formed and we became best friends. With no intentions of ever being together, as our friendship grew and developed so did our feelings for each other. I was tired of dating high school boys and didn't want to continue dating with no intentions. I asked the Lord to give me confirmation on who my husband was. I didn't care if I had to wait years for it to come to pass, I just wanted to know. I looked at Asa one day across the bus as the sun shined on his face and I heard the Lord say, "This is your husband". A few months later, on my 17th birthday, I woke up to the most beautiful text message where Asa confessed his love for me. In November 2015, we were officially dating and have been going strong ever since. We are amazed at how God has allowed us to grow together all these years. God has always been the glue of our relationship. Through everything we have been through, we always looked to God and He has always been there. All the Glory goes to God for allowing us to be together.
