Where we got engaged!! Sitting between Keystone & Breckenridge, Sapphire Point Overlook offers stunning views of the Dillon Reservoir, hemmed in by the Gore & Tenmile mountain ranges. Plus, there are opportunities for hiking & biking.
About an hour from Breckenridge, the Georgetown Loop Railroad offers a train ride through the Colorado Rockies! We're super excited about this one.
Breckenridge has three championship nines. All three being Jack Nicklaus Signature courses. Playing at 9300+ feet in elevation, each nine offers a mountain golf experience. Panoramic views of the snowcapped Colorado Rockies can be seen at every hole. It is not uncommon to spot wildlife during your round including beaver, deer, elk, moose, & sometimes even bear!
Country Boy Mine not only offers Breckenridge's only gold mine tour, but also monster truck hay rides & treasure hunts! Take an 1,000 foot deep tour into one of Colorado’s most famous mines! Afterward, pan for real gold (& keep what you find).
Isak Heartstone is a 15-foot tall wooden troll sculpture located on the Trollstigen Trail (an easy walking trail located on the outskirts of town). Isak was created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo, who is known worldwide for bringing awareness to recycling & upcycling by building great things out of trash. See if you can find Isak!
This captivating scenic drive tops out at 11,481 feet, & is full of history, scenery, & a trip across the continental divide. Take advantage of the numerous opportunities to stop & take in the grandeur of this mountain pass. The views & historical sites are spectacular, but the journey is the real attraction. At the top of the pass, if you are ready for some fresh air, park the car & take a hike on Black Powder Pass or pack a picnic lunch to enjoy above treeline.
Breckenridge is home to some of the best fly fishing waters in the state of Colorado. With numerous rivers, streams, alpine lakes, & reservoirs, all within an hour of downtown, there’s a destination to match nearly all interests & skill levels. Local shops like Breckenridge Outfitters & Mountain Angler boast overly-knowledgeable guides ready to provide their expertise to anglers of all skill levels. Also, both shops are authorized fishing license retailers.
There are so many hikes to explore in Breckenridge. Here is one that we've heard good things about :)
One of the infamous Colorado 14ers. The Quandary Peak trail is 6.6 miles with an elevation gain of 3,300 feet. It's considered a challenging hike but have heard the views are worth it.
So many good restaurants & cute shops! Tanner's favorite part of every Breckenridge trip is walking around Main Street each evening while Gabrielle goes in the same stores over & over again :)
One of Gab's all time favorite restaurants in Breck. So. Many. Sauces.
Cool atmosphere & goooood food.
Great smoothies, acai bowls, and other healthy options. We could eat here every day!
