The Meeting

Told by Macy <3

Hinge, who knew it could work? We matched, met for the first time 3 days later, then proceeded to spend every single day together for 30 days straight, and the rest is history. I swiped right after seeing a cute picture of Andrew and his family dog, Kash, at a campsite. Andrew texted first, saying "Hey :)" and I responded with "Andrew! When are we going camping?" Our first date was at Orrion Farms in Ellensburg. He wanted to see the horses, and I was ecstatic to show him! I gave him the tour of the fancy Arabian facility, and then we went downtown to play darts and met my best friends (he won their approval immediately). We went to The Porch for our first dinner date the next night, went on a double date the night after that, went stargazing in the pop-up tent next, and continued to hang out every day until he had to go out of town for baseball! We have been inseparable ever since and the story will go down in history as we get married over a year and a half later! I knew I loved him from that very first day and that love continues to grow every single day.

The Engagement

Told by Andrew <3

I asked Macy’s parents for their blessing on May 31st. I remember sitting with them at my parents’ hotel in Ellensburg, absolutely nervous out of my mind. But I got the words out, they said yes, and the planning officially began! I was playing summer baseball in Ohio, so every detail was planned long-distance and over the phone. First up: the ring. I custom designed it with the help of Christina and my mom (Jody). There were endless phone calls, pictures, and back-and-forth moments making sure the ring was perfect for my future bride. The engagement: after a wild summer of traveling, the day finally arrived. I planned it to happen right in the middle of the “Girls Trip,” which my mom and Christina were secretly in on so we could surprise Macy. The day the girls left for San Luis Obispo, James (father of the bride) and Abi (maid of honor) flew into town. Then James, my dad John (best man), Abi, and I all drove up to set everything in motion. About an hour and a half before the original engagement time, I got a call from my inside guy at Ancient Peaks Winery — where the proposal was supposed to happen. He said, “Can we do it now?” Cue panic. I texted the photographer to see if she could make it earlier. She said yes… and suddenly it was go time. We arrived, stashed the car, set up my phone for video, hid the family, and waited for my future bride to arrive on her winery tour. Then I saw her. My heart immediately started beating out of my chest — I was nervous, excited, overwhelmed, all of it. As she walked closer to where I was hiding, I stepped out from behind a tree and said, “Well, hi there beautiful.” She looked at me with the most confused, adorable face and said, “Wait… why—wait, hold on—what are you doing here?” I took her hand, walked her over to the outlook, and looked at her — more beautiful than ever — and said: “Macy Joy, I love you so much, and I cannot imagine my life without you. Will you do me the honor of marrying me and being my wife, forever and beyond that?” She nodded, said a very emphatic “Uh-huh!!” (somewhere in between all the wait, wait, what’s happening?!), and in that moment she made me the luckiest man alive. I get to marry my best friend — and I can’t wait
