Allison and Zander first met as counselors at Camp Kinneret during the summer of 2010. First impression? A: "Confident. Funny. Disarmingly charming." Z: "I couldn't comprehend how such a 'good girl' could dance like that." A few days after their first date at the Calabasas Commons, Allison left for college in Seattle. Over the next four years, they would exchange annual texts when Oregon played UW, and form tentative plans each summer. Did you think you would end up together? A: "No. (Though I did have a running joke with friends that I would not marry anyone without kissing Zander one more time!)" Z: "Ask my friends from back then. I knew the whole time." Allison graduated college, and moved back home to Los Angeles. They picked up where they left off four summers ago. Favorite memory from those first few months of dating? A: "After a sushi date, Zander got down on one knee (in the parking lot!) with a chopstick wrapper fashioned into a ring, and asked me to be his girlfriend." Z: "There was this one night, we went to Sagebrush Cantina for dinner, and somehow ended up staying awake the entire night just hanging out and talking. Sun came up, and everything." Fast forward five years, through too many visits to TGI Fridays, one breakup, a first apartment, a pandemic, and an adopted dog named Jake, Zander proposed to Allison on July 11, 2020 in her best friend Sydney's backyard. So, what do you predict the next ten years hold? A: "A white picket fence, two perfect children, and maybe another dog, or two.” Z: "Several dogs. At least three more titles for LA teams and hopefully, the college football playoff gets expanded to twelve teams.” KIDDING.
