We unknowingly were working in the same ICU at Eskenazi Hospital (in Indianapolis) and our first "meet" was with an unruly patient. Our connection didn't quite happen then, but it did set the stage for a few months later. We both were scrolling Bumble and recognized each other. Lauren couldn't resist reaching out, even though it could've been awkward if it didn't work out. We had our first date at Hotel Tango at the end of June and the rest is history!

Nick threw Lauren what was supposed to be a surprise 30th Gatsby birthday party. Turns out she’s not that easy to surprise, as she started planning it without him. However, little did she know that he was planning the biggest surprise of all, their engagement. He asked her family way back in May for their permission and 6 months later popped the question at the birthday party (engagement party). Best of all, he included both of their families who were able to catch the proposal and celebrate with them and their friends into the new year.
