Their story began in New Jersey during the summer of 2019 while working on the same team at a Verizon internship. Jack tried his best to impress MaryAnn from day one and it worked. Their first date was in New York City where they walked 14 miles and talked about everything under the sun. After that summer, Jack went back to Michigan State and MaryAnn went back to NC State to finish out their senior years. Luck would have it that they both received full-time job offers from Verizon in their Irving, Texas office and began officially dating in 2020. They spent about five years building a life in Texas before deciding it was time to be closer to friends and family. In December 2024, they packed up their Texas home and moved to Garner, North Carolina. After five years together, Jack FINALLY proposed during MaryAnn’s family beach trip in Hilton Head, South Carolina on September 13th, 2025.
