Our story

4.06.22

You might be wondering how two people from the opposite sides of the US met each other... I would like to say our story is like what you would see in a movie. Jacob had moved from the state of California to be stationed in a small town in North Carolina, little did he know he would only be an hour drive away from his future bride. Meanwhile Elizabeth is born and raised in a small town in North Carolina and had no idea that her future husband would be an hour drive away from her. Modern day dating is mostly common through social media and we had shared mutual friends which had each of us on social media, we saw pictures of each other and thats when that first spark started. The first time we met in person Jacob told Elizabeth that he would be traveling over seas in three weeks for an unknown amount of time, in that three weeks they slam packed so many dates and enjoyed their time together. The night before Jacob left they gave each other a personal beloging that was memorable to them, so they could think of each other while they were so many miles away without consistent communication, and an unknown time frame to when they would see each other again. After what felt like forever... five weeks later Jacob was back in the states and he asked Elizabeth to be his girlfriend the day he got back, and thats where our story began.

The Proposal

7.22.23

One of our friends had posted an ad on instagram for a free couples photoshoot to build up their portfolio, after Elizabeth saw the ad she immediately jumped on that offer and messaged her. Their friend said that there was another couple that reached out and that she would let us know the next morning if they backed out (there wasn't another couple). The next morning Elizabeth got a text from their friend saying that it was a YES and sent her the details on where to go, a beautiful spot at Fort Fisher. Elizabeth was so excited and everything was unfolding perfectly.. (aka) her package from amazon arrived that same day that had a dress that she ordered for future pictures. A couple hours later it was time to drive over to the location and it was POURING rain, a tropical storm popped up that same day, Elizabeth was nervous that they would have to reschedule but Jacob set her mind at ease and said it will be fine. Once we got to the location the rain stopped and a beautiful sunset was setting down the water front, we were walking up a trail to meet our friend who was going to take our pictures, and Elizabeth saw a set up with flowers, vases, blankets and pillows. Everything happened so fast and before she knew it Jacob was down on one knee with tears in his eyes and said the words "I'm ready to be your husband" then our friend popped up behind the bushes with a camera and captured the whole thing! it was Jacobs plan all along and with the help of our friends 7.22.23 is one of the days that we will remember for a life time (: We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in California!
