Ever since a four-and-a-half-hour first date in a Mexican restaurant in downtown Winston-Salem—to which one of us was late—we have been steadily, thoughtfully, and lovingly building a relationship that we know will last a lifetime. From hiking dates with our dog Sadie in tow to sharing beer flights at local breweries, we have spent the past two years developing a partnership that accepts deeply, knows truly, and loves fully. From watching the love that came before us, we have learned how to build the one in front of us. We’ve done a lot together: traveling the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, getting up close to alligators in the Everglades, and visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth. We’ve moved into a new home: building staircases and painting doorframes and selecting a couch for Sadie to wear a favorite spot into. And now, getting married at the same venue where we first met, thanks to a chance encounter at our best friends’ wedding, we are more excited than ever to continue building a life together that we will be infinitely proud of, and to share our joy with the people we love most.
