Our Story

Logan and I met on a sunny day at King School Elementary in 4th grade. You might think “wow, he even remembers what the weather was like… that was 20 years ago… how sweet.” Truth be told the only reason I remember that detail is because the glare from her giant glasses blinded me from 15 yards out. Thank God though, because after coming in closer to get a better look at her that day, I haven’t been able to stop. We remained close friends throughout the rest of school. We even dated for one whole week in Junior High. She broke up with me, which is insane because all 70 pounds of me had to muster up the courage to ask her dad for his permission to ask her out. Fast forward to high school, her being the only reason I made it through by letting me copy her homework. I’d tell you it was because of my charm, she’d probably tell you it’s because she felt bad for the dumb kid. Even in college with her attending UofA in Fayetteville and me at UCA in Conway, we stayed in touch. It wasn’t until after college and all those years that I scored my first real date. I knew then, but it took me roughly 3 months after that to convince her to be my girlfriend. 1 month into that and I was bringing her to family photos. Since that first date, we’ve shared endless laughs, eaten unlimited sushi, adopted our dog Puddin, moved twice across 3 states, and most importantly fell in love as best friends. That being said, I got to redeem myself by asking her dad for his permission.. yet again. This time the stakes were higher but luckily for me I had put on a few pounds and just a ~few~ inches. (Ashlen would want me to emphasize that part). I proposed on May 31st on a walk by the lake next to our house in Little Rock, we moved to Springfield the next morning, and every day since then I’ve been the luckiest person I know.
