From The Groom: I can’t really describe the feeling I felt when I met the beautiful woman I’m lucky enough to marry. Love at first sight is a gimmick used by many people and it’s rarely true, but I have testified witnesses to hear me say “that’s my future wife” after first lunch on the first day of high school. She shifted my life that day by just being her. Her contagious and beautiful smile made my heart melt so much so that I can remember every second of that day. There was no doubt in my mind that I was going to spend the rest of my life with her. We quickly became best friends. The kind of best friends that feel different. It wasn’t until junior year when she made the guy that never went to parties (me) go to a Halloween party. We went as friends, the different kind of friends. One dance was all it took. From that moment on, she’s had me wrapped around her finger. And I’m so unbelievably grateful that God allowed me to put a ring on her finger years later. I look back as I write this and smile ear to ear because I still feel the butterflies of our first dance, our first kiss, our first date. She was my best friend, my girlfriend, my cheerleader, my shotgun rider, and my favorite girl in the stands when I was on the diamond. College came and the distance came, but that never stopped us. The first weekend my baseball coach gave us off, I drove my truck across the state of California through the night to surprise her in San Diego where she went to school. I’m annoyingly inseparable from her. Not too much later, we both lived in Southern California where we’d take turns in each other’s cities every weekend. We were blessed and lucky to grow up with each other. Whatever we did, we did together. What we learned, we learned together. I couldn’t be more blessed by God to be able to experience this human life with my first and only love, my soul’s soulmate. My heart can’t be more happier than to think of the future we will soon have. Lord knows I don’t deserve her, but I’m damn happy she said yes and we get to share a beautiful day with all of our friends and family that have watched us grow up madly in love with each other. Cheers to us baby. I love you endlessly.
