Jonathan had just started working at ABC 57. I decided to pull him over to the side and invite him into our work family. That's when it happened. He disrespected me in front of all my friends. I couldn't see an emoji in the group message because the emoji came from an iPhone. I let the group know. Jonathan responded, "Oh Taylor you have that welfare Obama phone." What made it worse is that we were in the newsroom when he sent it. So he looked at me with a petty expression and shrugged. And that's where our friendship and phone rivalry began and later love flourished. - Taylor
I knew I wanted to propose on March 14th for about five months leading up to that actual date. I had the idea of taking her to see The Lion King musical when it came to town. I bought tickets and even arranged for her family to come up from Louisville. Then, two days before the date the play gets canceled. Crushed, but determined, the gears started turning to make the proposal still extravagant. After consultation with my mom, I decided to use the disappointment of not seeing the play to my advantage. I told Taylor we were still getting dressed up, and we would go to one of our favorite lunch spots. Before we got to the restaurant, I told her we needed to stop by the theater to "get our refund". I parked on the side of the building so she wouldn't see anything to tip her off and before we got out of the car, I handed her tissues saying "You're going to need these,". She still had no idea what was going on. We turn the corner towards the building, and she sees her family and hears one of our pastors singing "Can You Feel the Love Tonight". And she obviously said YES! - Jonathan
