The Wedding Website of Marisa C. Petticord and C. Daniel Furst
We've been lucky to make many, many friends, and luckier still that our friends are so supportive of our love. While we wish all our friends could be a part of our party, there are a special few who we would like to specifically have by our side.

Marisa Caroline PetticordMarisa Caroline Petticord

Bride

Marisa, originally from outside of Cleveland, Ohio, met Daniel on her first day of work at the University of Pennsylvania after graduating from Vassar College in 2021. The two were instant friends, but their romance blossomed quickly as they navigated Philadelphia together. In the early stages of their relationship, the two could often be spotted at local music venues or restaurants, chatting over good food. She is currently working on her PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania. Marisa loves how easily Daniel can make her smile, and her favorite activity is walking home together after work.

Charles Daniel FurstCharles Daniel Furst

Groom

Daniel, originally from New Hope, graduated from Towson with his M.S. and B.S. in 2020. After graduating, Daniel moved to Philadelphia to work at the University of Pennsylvania. At the beginning of their friendship, Daniel would text and chat with Marisa every day during his 1.5 hour commute to and from the university. Shortly after moving to Philadelphia he introduced his puppy, Quinn, to his future wife. Quinn knew immediately that Marisa was his person, and Daniel had to agree! Fun Fact! The Fursticord wedding date of 08/17/2025 is the four year anniversary of Daniel and Marisa's first date!

Emily CatheyEmily Cathey

Matron of Honor

Emily and Marisa met in 2013 at Saint Joseph Academy and from the first day have been inseparable. Although college and life brought the two women to different parts of the country, they have kept a tight knit friendship for the past decade. Some things may change, but others (such as a love for Taylor Swift, frozen yogurt, and staying up late sharing stories) will always stay the same. Marisa was blessed to be Emily's Maid of Honor in 2022, and the two are looking forward to swapping roles in 2025!

Eric ThomasEric Thomas

Best Man

Eric and Daniel met in high school and bonded over their love of musical theater, football, and hours of video games. After parting ways for undergrad (Eric to Notre Dame and Daniel to Towson), the two stayed in touch by playing video games together almost nightly. The two reunited and lived together in Baltimore before moving together to Philadelphia. Shortly after moving to Philadelphia, Eric met Marisa and the two bonded over being the most competitive members of game night. Eric remains Daniel's closest friend to this day and is the closest thing to a brother Daniel has ever experienced.

Elizabeth GayElizabeth Gay

Maid of Honor

Elizabeth and Marisa met during their freshman year of college at Vassar during German class. Although neither of the girls continued with their language learning, they became the best of friends during their sophomore year after daring each other to get their first tattooes. Elizabeth and Marisa then went on to study abroad together in Stockholm, Sweden, before moving to Philadelphia together after graduation. Elizabeth is the unofficial third member of Marisa and Daniel's relationship, as she has been present for the two since their very first date. It is only fitting that Elizabeth's puppy Ozzy and Quinn are also best friends!

Nick CassidyNick Cassidy

Groomsman

Nick and Daniel met early in elementary school, and remained friends throughout high school and college. Nick and Daniel bonded over a shared loved for theater, board games and many, many, many, nights of Magic the Gathering. After school, Nick moved to Philadelphia with Daniel and Eric, and his board game knowledge was the primary attraction for the friend group's weekly game nights. You will never meet someone who can read instructions with more passion and expression, or someone with more patience when said instructions have to be repeated! No matter what happens in their lives they always seem to end up together again, making Nick one of Daniel's most cherished friends.

Mykle WilliamsMykle Williams

Bridesmaid

Marisa likes to describe her dear cousin Mykle Elizabeth as the first human being that she got to watch grow into a person. Mykle, seven years Marisa's junior, is currently attending Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, Georgia. Marisa has been beyond blessed to watch Mykle grow from an adorably mischievous kid to a highly intelligent, kind, and beautiful young woman. As Mykle went through high school and college, she would sneak away to spend weekends with Marisa and Daniel in Philadelphia, where she became a lover of Philly Cheesesteaks and the Eagles (or at least, seeing Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift in the Eagles Stadium).

Caitlin WeibleCaitlin Weible

Groomswoman

Caitlyn and Daniel met during his senior year at Towson University, when he joined Dr. Chris Salice's reptile ecotoxicology laboratory. She served as a mentor and friend to Daniel as he completed his undergraduate education and started on his masters thesis. The two acted as gym partners during graduate school and also enjoyed sharing a love of football, baseball, and video games. Daniel credits her as one of the funniest people he has ever met, second only to his beloved Marisa.

Julia PetticordJulia Petticord

Bridesmaid

Marisa has never had to wonder what life would be like with a sister, because Julia entered her life almost 15 years ago! Although the two are originally connected through Julia's high school sweetheart and husband (Marisa’s brother), Marisa and Julia were members of many of the same clubs in high school, and served as presidents of the Key Club at Saint Joseph Academy for 4 concurrent sessions (two each as president). Over the years the two have grown from teenagers to women together and have formed a beautiful friendship.

Dan PetticordDan Petticord

Groomsman

Dan Petticord, known as Danny or the Encore to his family, has the honor of knowing the bride longer than anyone else on the wedding party. The two met on a blisteringly hot day in August, 1998, and have been attached ever since. Marisa and Danny share a love for video games and cooking, and both are extremely competitive, which Daniel (and Julia) love to exploit during family game nights. Daniel and Danny bonded quickly over a shared love for sports and video games, and Danny DMs a monthly family D&D game with the bride and groom and the father of the bride. Daniel and Danny also share a birthday, 09/06/1996, which means that the 6th of every month is now known in the Petticord family as the "Day of the Dan."

Megan FisherMegan Fisher

Bridesmaid

Megan and Marisa met on the first day of first grade and have been the best of friends ever since. In the past twenty years, the two have been classmates, performed on stage together multiple times, and have always cheered on each others achievements, regardless of how far they may be physically at times. The two remain the best of friends and try to visit each other in Philadelphia and D.C. as much as they can. When they are lucky enough to be home in Ohio at the same time, they make sure to make time to sit in the hot tub or go swimming and have ice cream together.

Ben NatanBen Natan

Groomsman

Ben and Daniel met early in elementary school and remained fast friends as the two attended different schools in childhood. They bonded over their mutual love of weight lifting, theatre, football, and fine dining. Both gentlemen are New Hope natives who moved to big cities after college, but they remain in touch through video games, Fantasy Football, and an exchange of daily memes. Ben is currently working on his MBA with hopes to produce his own theatre shows in NYC. Ben's success in the theatre (and his impeccable taste in restaurants) is the primary reason Marisa and Daniel brave NYC each year.
