Our story began in 2016 at pharmacy school in Nigeria Damilola was in her first year, while Funmbi was in his final year. Like many great love stories, ours did not begin with a grand romantic gesture. There was certainly a spark and mutual admiration, but the timing was not right, and we chose not to pursue a relationship. Instead, we built a friendship. Over the years, we stayed in touch to varying extents despite different life seasons, career paths, and geographical distances. What started as casual friendship gradually evolved into a meaningful connection where we learnt from each other as we navigated life. Through countless conversations and shared experiences, a strong foundation of trust and respect was formed. As the years passed, our friendship continued to deepen. What neither of us fully realized at the beginning was that God was quietly writing a story far greater than we could have imagined. After nearly a decade of friendship, mentorship, and unwavering connection, we both had our conviction from God that this was his will for us and in January 2026, we began our courtship. Looking back, we can see God’s hand in every chapter of our journey. What started in the halls of pharmacy school grew into a friendship that stood the test of time and with God meticulously weaving our separate threads into a single, beautiful tapestry.
