The Wedding

After years of long distance, Brittany and Fugain are finally getting the chance to tie the knot! They are so excited for the ceremony that will take place on December 1, 2018 at Chino Valley Community Church. It will be a beautiful celebration of their love and their commitment to glorifying Jesus through their union.

The Engagement

"Blue", he said, "in Malagasy culture, represents endurance. And by the time that I marry you, we will have endured a couple years of long distance." Those were Fugain's words when he and Brittany first started talking about marriage. His commitment to her was evident from the beginning. He made his heart clear as they struggled through their first 7 months of not seeing each other. Months of internet connections cutting in and out, working through cultural differences, fighting to find ways to care for one another over the phone and Skype brought them closer and closer and cultivated and love so deep and rich and unlike anything they could have asked for. On June 10, 2017, they got up at 5:30 in the morning to go for a walk. He had been up since 2:00 am throwing up. She asked him if he wanted to stay back and he replied with a soft, "No. This was my promise to you." They proceeded to walk up a steep hill to Brittany's favorite look- out spot. The moon on one side of the sky and the sun rising on the other. They could see the whole city. He pulled her close and was about to say something when he had to let go to throw up. He turned back to her, said the sweetest words and got down on one knee. "Would you like to marry me?" were his words. The ring he pulled out had a blue center stone--something they had chosen to symbolize endurance. After laugh-crying hysterically, she finally replied, "I would love to." And then they worshipped God for the blessing He had given to each of them through one another. They cannot wait for many more years of love, deep friendship, and worshipping God together.
