we met at a lunch table in september 2004 in the cafeteria of albert einstein high. I had been eyeing myra for a few weeks but had not built up the courage to introduce myself. over that time I slowly worked myself into her group of friends and even befriended her twin sister, myia. after a few weeks of surveillance, myia set us up and invited me to sit with them for lunch. I would love to say it went well but myra refused to share her fries and refused to have a true conversation. instead she answered a couple questions and left me alone with her leftover fries. from that moment I knew that she was different and I liked different.
on my 29th birthday, with our dearest friends and family gathered around, I surprised myra with a ring and asked her to give me the greatest gift I will ever receive, her hand in marriage. with tears running down her eyes and sampha's, "no one knows me" playing in the background, myra said YES! and so here we are, almost 17 years later (about time right?), embarking on a new journey. we're super excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you all. see you in Tulum!
