It was a warm November night in Oakland, California when Chris & Katelyn met. That night at The Fox Theater was the beginning of the close-knit friendship of a group of avid concert-goers, all with a common love of Phish. After dancing together so many nights to great music in the Bay Area, the little friend group had become a family. On the 1st of May, Chris and Katelyn joined a few other friends for a Khruangbin concert at The Historic Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco. After a night of dancing together, Chris and Katelyn shared their first kiss. That summer, the pair and their friends somehow managed to survive 9 Phish shows together in 3 states. When Katelyn's lease was up, and the two decided it was time to stop paying bridge tolls to see one another. Katelyn moved into Chris's apartment in San Francisco, and together they scraped by just enough to survive and have a little fun as well. When Katelyn got a job offer in Portland, Oregon, Chris was all in. The two uprooted their lives, said a teary "see you later" to their friends, and journeyed north to begin their lives together in the land of tall trees, Big Foot, and craft brews. On September 1st, 2019, Chris and Katelyn reunited with their SF friends in Denver, Colorado, to see 3 nights of Phish! On the third night, Chris slid into Trey Anastasio's DM's and asked him to play Katelyn's favorite song. A risky move! But, when the first notes of Bathtub Gin started, it all paid off! As the last notes of the jam evaporated into the Colorado sky, Chris turned to Katelyn and began telling her how much she meant to him. Then Chris got down on one knee, opened up a box with the most dazzling opal ring Katelyn had ever seen, and asked her to marry him. She said YES! Since then, Chris and Katelyn have made incredible friends in Portland, and become closer to one another's families. They fall more in love every day. Thanks for sharing the rest of our lives with us!
