Fort Worth Water Gardens
We love the Fort Worth Water Gardens! We went here on one of our first dates and enjoyed the serenity. The quiet, blue meditation pool is encircled with cypress trees and towering walls that are covered in thin plane of water that cascades almost 90 degrees down to the sunken blue water feature. The sound of the water on the walls evokes thoughts of a gentle rain shower. The aerating pool features multiple illuminated spray fountains under a canopy of large oak trees. The main attraction of the Water Gardens is the active pool, which has water cascading 38 feet (11 m) down terraces and steps into a small pool at the bottom. The active pool experience was built for people to be able to walk down the terraced steps to be surrounded by and experience the power, sounds and motion of water crashing around them.
Thanks-Giving Square
The first photos we took together were throughout Thanksgiving Square. The sunken design of the Garden at Thanks-Giving Square creates place of refuge from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Flowing waters from the Great Fountain dampen the noises of the surrounding city and create a serene atmosphere perfect for reflecting and contemplation. To the west, the bell tower punctuates the space, complemented by the nearby mosaic of Norman Rockwell’s famous “Golden Rule” painting. To the east stands The Chapel of Thanksgiving, a winding white structure symbolizing the ancient spiral of life and the infinite upward reach of the human spirit. The upper level of the Chapel features the “Glory Window,” a stunning stained glass masterpiece, and one of the most memorable facets of the Chapel.
The Salty
Smooth coffee, delicious donuts, and vibes. Need we say more? This is a Charlotte & Taylor approved indulgence. If you're looking for brunch options in this same area, Bishop Arts, we recommend Paradiso or Oddfellows (check for New Year's hours).
Ascension Coffee - Fort Worth
Both the coffee and food are superb. Try a coffee flight for fun! If you're hungry, you can't go wrong with their breakfast or lunch options. (locations in both Fort Worth and Dallas)
Malai Kitchen
We went here on our second date and have returned many times since. This is a staple in our restaurant rotation.
Little Red Wasp
Another of Charlotte and Taylor's favorites! Their menu is seasonal, fresh, and there is something for everyone. P.S. they have the BEST cocktails. 10/10
