Let’s run it back for a sec y’all! Just in case you missed it, here is a rerun of the moment we got engaged. Hope you enjoy:)
Nehemiah met Brittny when she served him coffee at the bar inside Renew Church LA. As she handed him his drink, she asked casually, “Are you more of a coffee or tea kind of guy?” That simple question sparked a conversation that lingered far longer than expected—and ended with Nehemiah inspired to put his number in her phone. Just days later, they were sharing long conversations over the phone during their evening commutes, slowly unraveling each other’s stories, quirks, and dreams. In those first few weeks, they explored diners and cafés all around Los Angeles, but it was at Café 50’s in Santa Monica—surrounded by checkered floors and neon signs—that they finally confessed a mutual fancy for one another. Nehemiah, wanting to be intentional from the start, assured Brittny that he wasn’t looking to waste her time. Together, they agreed to date for three months before defining the relationship. By May 14, 2023, they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. In the early bloom of their relationship, Brittny and Nehemiah lived as if the world had opened itself just for them. Every date brought a new adventure—a spontaneous trip to Disneyland, where they shared churros and laughter between roller coaster screams, or a wedding where they danced beneath twinkling lights, completely lost in their own rhythm. They picnicked on the beach, trying and failing to protect their food from ambitious birds and curious dogs. In museums, they sat quietly in exhibits, Nehemiah completely fixated on Brittny’s charm, in awe of how she so openly described the beauty she saw—not just in art, but in everything. Their growing love was both loud and gentle, stitched together with moments that were grand and others that were quietly intimate. They sipped pumpkin lattes in cozy cafés, shared secrets over pancakes and nachos at Denny’s, and clung to each other on the ski lift at the LA County Fair—Brittny facing her fear of heights while Nehemiah chuckled softly, filled with admiration. Mini golf became playful flirtation. In an empty church at Pepperdine University, they whispered heartfelt truths. At Dave & Buster’s, they brought out each other’s competitive sides—or at least what little of them they had. They rowed boats, hiked trails, snuggled through movie nights, danced in parking lots, and even turned doing laundry into a ritual of shared care. But what made their time together truly special wasn’t just the places they visited—it was their shared purpose. From the very beginning, they approached this season of lighthearted romance with intention. Whether painting on a whim, laughing at comedy shows, or wandering through malls, flower gardens, pumpkin patches, or ice rinks, Brittny and Nehemiah weren’t just having fun—they were building something lasting. Exploring each other with joy and care, they laid the foundation of a love that was not only romantic, but deeply real.
