Michael and Brianna met at the University of Virginia in November 2018 (thanks, Tinder!). Michael was a first-year law student and Brianna was finishing up her last year of undergrad. For their first date, they met at the Charlottesville Downtown Mall for drinks. Since all of the bars were full inside, the two got to know each other outside of Jack Brown’s Beer and Burger Joint in the cold. Brianna was apprehensive about starting a relationship because she would be leaving UVA in a matter of months. But, after a semester of taking walks around Thomas Jefferson’s University and watching UVA’s March Madness win together, they fell in love anyway. The rest is history.

Michael and his sister took Brianna to a “Gold Rush” themed escape room on November 11, 2022. When the trio finally found the gold, there was a note on top of it (which Brianna assumed was another clue). Instead, the note read “Our love is worth more than gold… will you marry me?”
