Nick and I officially found each other on eHarmony, but upon matching Nick responded he was dating someone. A few months later, we matched on Bumble and his response was "I know you." After a few days of conversing online, we went on a date to Pier 48 in downtown Indianapolis on a Sunday afternoon right before the mask mandate was ordered in the city. Nick thought "this girl is expensive," after such a "fancy" first date, but this girl is worth it. We concluded the date with a nice walk at the canal.
During the month of December, Jourdann scheduled trips to Indianapolis festive events like Winterlights at Newfields and Christmas at the Indianapolis Zoo. When reserving Christmas at the Zoo, there was a special option to meet a dolphin. Upon visiting the Zoo, Nick put the ring on his pinkie in the parking lot and wore it for the first hour of the visit including the Dolphin show directly next to Jourdann. Nick did pet the dolphin with the ring on (we have video proof) because he was afraid to have it fall from a pocket. After the Dolphin Meet and Greet, he got down on one knee and proposed in the dome in front of the playing Dolphins. Jourdann was not surprised that there would be a proposal that winter, but was shocked that it happened that day at the Zoo because Nick had previously joked "who would get engaged at the zoo." The dolphin trainers then helped take photos and the dolphins had fun joining in.
