Emily and Austin met in 2009, their freshman year at Indian Hills High School. In science lab, Austin was assigned Emily as a lab partner, and the two became pretty fast friends from sharing notes and homework assignments. Emily quickly fell for Austin's huge heart and sense of humor, but Austin was a bit slow to reciprocate. Fast forward to junior year, Austin took Emily out on a sushi date and the two have been inseparable ever since. High School relationships are not always easy, but they would both agree this one was worth it. Emily and Austin tested their love by going to college in different states, which was the biggest hurdle in their 10 years together. 4 years with hundreds of miles between them only made their time together more special, and they jumped at the chance to visit each other whenever possible. Austin never missed a sorority formal at UConn and Emily made it to as many lacrosse social events at Monmouth as she could. By the time they graduated college, they were in their sixth year together and more in love than ever. Immediately following graduation, Austin had a great opportunity to work at Monmouth while simultaneously getting his MBA. Emily moved home after college graduation and thanks to a successful summer internship her junior year, immediately started her career in the rug industry. Once Austin completed his degree, they both settled together in Jersey City where Austin found a nice position at a financial lending firm. Emily is now Head of Branding and Partnerships at Momeni Rugs and is involved in many facets of an exciting business. September 25th, 2021, Austin got down on his knee at Liberty State Park and proposed to Emily. It was a well-planned endeavor that caught Emily off guard, but after a few hugs and tears, she said FINALLY (or yes)! Three years and a kitty named Penelope later, they are still in Jersey City and cannot wait to marry each other in front of friends and family. It will be a party!! #FromAtoZak
