The dress code is semi-formal. Wedding website "With Joy" describes this attire as the following: When choosing a semi-formal ensemble, you want to select something fancier than you would wear to the office, but a bit less formal than black tie garb. Women: As the term “formal” is still in the works, you want your attire to be refined. This means putting on that silky pantsuit, your midi satin dress, a fitted jumpsuit, or another option that is polished, without looking like you’re heading to the Met Ball. Men: Men get to hang up the tux for this one, yet still need to put thought into their appearance. For example, a dark suit with a dress shirt and shoes is appropriate – extra points for a tie.
The weather in Knoxville in August tends to be fairly hot and humid. However, all of our wedding events are located indoors. There is a chance of thunderstorms the weekend of the wedding, which will make the evenings a little cooler.
If you are staying at our hotel block, the hotel is just one block from the venue. If you are driving in, we recommend parking at the garage at the building, which is $2 for the evening, or any of the parking garages in downtown Knoxville that are free on the weekends. The State Street garage is the closest free garage to the venue.
The ceremony and reception are both being held at Club LeConte, 800 S. Gay Street, 27th Floor, Knoxville, Tennessee, located in the First Tennessee building right in downtown. If you are coming off interstate I-40 East or West, take the James White Parkway Exit (388A). Off of James White, take the Cumberland Avenue Exit (2nd Exit). As you come off the exit ramp, you will come to a four-way stop light. Go straight through the light. Immediately on the left will be the parking garage to the First Tennessee building. Take the first entrance into the parking garage.
From the parking garage, take the Garage Elevator to the Plaza Level (indicated by a P in the elevator). As you exit the elevator, follow the corridor to your right. You will pass the entrance to the First Tennessee Bank. From here, for both those coming from the parking garage and the street, you will see a bank of elevators opposite the guard's desk. The elevators on the left only will take you to the Club Level (26th Floor). At the 26th Floor, there is a staircase that will lead to the club.
Yes! Follow the above instructions, but instead of taking the stairs from the 26th to the 27th floor, there is a wheelchair-accessible elevator. One you exit the elevator on the 26th floor, you will see another elevator directly in front of you. Take this elevator up one floor to Club LeConte.
We recommend that guests arrive fifteen to thirty minutes early for the ceremony, to make sure that everyone can find the venue and get through the elevators so we can get the party started!
The bridal party will take pictures for an hour after the ceremony. In the meantime, we will have a cocktail hour for the guests, including a bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, and a photobooth!
Yes! We encourage guests to post pictures on their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo #fromAtoZ2019 so we can keep track of all your pictures!
