Jason and Alyssa took a trip to Chicago, Illinois to see the Bears and Chiefs game. As halftime approached and Jason became more frustrated with the score, snacks from the concession stand were warranted. While Alyssa left to get nachos and a couple of beers, Jason gave his phone to one of the guys sitting behind them in the stands and asked him to take photos of the proposal. Soon after Alyssa made it back to their seats and began eating her nachos. She looked over at Jason (mid-bite) and he was on one knee! As he held the ring box open he asked, "Will you be my Chief and marry me?" She said yes, and the whole section cheered for newly engaged couple! It was a Win-Win situation for Alyssa with a Chiefs victory and some new bling!

Jason and Alyssa met through Christian Mingle, a dating site that Jason's dad, Jerry, encouraged him to try! Alyssa registered on the site to see if there were any true prospects (in a larger pool than Lake Havasu!). The two decided to grab coffee on the morning of April 13, 2018. As Alyssa prepared for the date, she told her mom she was meeting a guy named Jason on Friday the 13th. The irony was a tad bit scary, but she gave her mom the details and decided to take the risk! Thankfully, Jason did not show up wearing a hockey mask or with chainsaw in hand. Instead, he was a sweet gentleman whose eyes lit up when talking about basketball and his puppy, Mikey. At the end of the date, Jason walked Alyssa to her car- a Toyota Rav4 which was what Jason was also driving at the time. It was meant to be, then, right?! The two talked about their faith, careers and life in the days following and the rest is history! That was the best $10.92 Jason had ever spent (according to Alyssa). :)
