What started as a simple "walk in the desert" turned into something much more magical that warm Sunday in April 2017 when Nikki Lynn talked Matthew Buck into a hike at Red Rock Canyon just outside of Las Vegas NV (when all he really wanted to do was sit by the pool)...little did he know what he was getting himself into. The connection between them was instantaneous as conversation flowed freely about their mutual friends, past adventures, dream vacations, and their love for their Grandma's in heaven, not to mention the fact that Matt almost got down on one knee when Nikki mentioned that she had a Grand Canyon permit for the following March. The first few months the chemistry was palpable, on their "third date" (1 month later) in Phoenix AZ a bystander taking sunset photos on top of Camelback Mountain came up to them and said she took some photos of them she'd love to share and "it's so nice to see two people so in love". It was clear to both that the distance between Portland OR and Las Vegas NV was not too far, but far enough that they wanted to close the gap so Matt convinced Nicole to pack up her life in Vegas (and her dog Bridger) and she made the 1000+ mile trek to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to him. The next two years were filled with adventures near and far, traveling internationally and to many of the National Parks in the US, rafting many rivers, meeting each-other's friend's and family, buying a house and remodeling it together (Nikki is very good at demo btw), and oh yeah, they had a beautiful 10lb baby boy, Aiden this past May and he can't wait to meet everyone. We can't wait to celebrate our love story with all of our favorite people in a magical place like Trout Lake Washington, see ya'll in August ;)
