Expect classic Carmel coastal weather all weekend - mild, a bit breezy, and cooler than you might expect for summer. Mornings can be foggy, afternoons are usually sunny, and evenings get chilly. Layers are recommended - definitely bring a jacket or sweater.
The ceremony will take place outside, but the reception will be inside, with courtyard access for those who want to head outdoors.
While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We’ve made a few exceptions for immediate family, but otherwise kindly ask that guests arrange childcare. Thank you so much for understanding - we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Our Welcome Event begins at 7:00 PM PT at Wave Street Studios in Monterey. A few notes for the evening: For those staying at the Hyatt Regency, check-in begins at 4:00 PM (it's worth calling ahead to see if early check-in is available!). Beer and wine will be provided, but food will not be served, so we recommend grabbing dinner beforehand. We'll have a fun icebreaker, but the main event is an open mic for toasts, roasts, songs, spoken word, dance, or really anything else you'd like to share. We love this creative group and can't wait to see what you bring. This will begin ~8:15pm. Acoustic and acoustic-electric guitar will be available! Questions? Just let us know! We recommend making dinner reservations around 5:00–5:30 PM, or grabbing something casual in the Cannery Row area. Yes! There is an optional pickleball event from 10:00am-12:00pm, followed by a chill pool hang, all at the hotel. Other options are detailed what else can we do? We kindly ask that all guests arrive at Carmel Fields at 5:30 pm for our 6:00 pm ceremony.
Monterey and Carmel are incredible places to explore, and there are plenty of ways to spend the day before heading to Carmel Fields for your 5:30 PM arrival. Some ideas: - Breakfast at Sea Root (Hyatt Regency) – $$–$$$ - Join us for pickleball from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM, see details above - Visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium - Stroll Cannery Row for shopping, drinks, or ice cream - Walk or bike the Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail - Relax by the Hyatt pool - Grab lunch or a drink overlooking the bay - Explore Pacific Grove and Lovers Point - Go wine tasting at one of Cannery Row's tasting rooms - Rent a kayak or paddleboard if you're feeling adventurous
The ceremony begins promptly at 6:00 PM PT (no exceptions), so please plan to arrive at 5:30 PM to enjoy some pre-ceremony champagne. There is plenty of free parking at the venue, and Uber/Lyft are readily available throughout the area. If you'd rather not wait, we recommend scheduling your ride in advance. After the ceremony, we'll have cocktail hour, followed by dinner, speeches, dancing, and what would a Jess & Paul celebration be without it... karaoke! Carmel Fields will close up at 11:00 PM. Please plan ahead for a safe ride home - we want everyone celebrating, not driving. You can park overnight in the secluded, safe parking lot for free!
