We met while working at Table Mountain Casino. Amanda was a beverage server and Carlos was an EMT. They had seen each other passing around before but had never properly met. Amanda was hit on the head one day by an ice machine lid and by work policy was required to be assessed. Carlos was the EMT on shift that day and was called to Amanda's assistance. When he finally saw Amanda was his patient, in his head he said "oh no, she's a cute one". Carlos was captivated by Amanda's green eyes, and almost forgot how to do his job properly, fumbling between words. Amanda brushed it off as some guy who just didn't know how to do his job (Amanda was also studying emergency medicine so she knew Carlos was fumbling through the medical aid). Soon after they began to wave and greet each other and eventually began to talk. Sharing their interest in emergency medicine was a building ground for them to continue coming back to each other to share stories and medical memes. It wasn't long until they finally hung out outside of work and took an adventure together to Seqouia Natl Park.

On their third year anniversary, Carlos and Amanda decided they would go back to Seqouia Natl Park, where they had their first date and hike the first trail they ever did, (Tokopah Falls). They had a relaxing spot on the trail that would get light foot traffic, was on a cool granite rock, and next to a small waterfall. They called it "our spot". Carlos had it planned that they would hike the same trail and hang out at "our spot" like their first date. Once there, Carlos set up the Gopro and camera as if they were going to take silly pictures. After a few pictures and videos, Carlos got down on one knee, popped out a ring, and asked the question!
