We met through high school friends that were dating. We would mingle at parties together but never thought anything would come of it. I always thought John was the weird little redheaded kid that talked to everyone at every party. Eventually, we started talking, and I realized that maybe he wasn't so weird after all. After months of talking and seeing each other at parties, I realized maybe something could come of this. It took me a couple times of John asking to be his girlfriend to say yes, but I would not have it any other way. We have made so many memories thus far, and we can not wait to see what the future hold for us!
It was a typical week of work for me, but I come home Thursday morning to beautiful flowers and note from John saying "these flowers are for your hard week of work, and I can not wait for dinner tomorrow night". At this sight, I was beyond grateful for having such a wonderful guy in my life. However, John gave it away that something special was going to happen when he suggested I get my nails done, but of course, I listened. Friday morning came and all I could think about was our dinner date we had planned later that night. Fast forward.... John gets home from work, and we decide to go get drinks before dinner. We order an Uber, and John walks into the bedroom right before we head out the door. As we are walking to the Uber and sitting in the Uber, I notice John has his hand in his pocket. He NEVER has his hand in his pocket. We then get to the bar and he STILL has his hand in his pocket. At this point, I knew what was going to happen. Why else would he continue to keep his hand in his pocket?! So.... We enjoy a couple drinks and then head to dinner all while John continue to sit weird and keep his hand in his pocket to hide the ring box. After dinner, we decide to talk a walk in the park next to the river. I noticed John kept looking around weirdly, but I did not say anything. Eventually, John said "what if I told you I loved you" and I said "I'd hope so after 6 years". He then got down on one knee and said "what if I said I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you? Will you marry me?". Of course, I said yes!
