Matron of Honor
Domo and I have been buddies since we were kids. I always wanted to do what she did as a kid because she was the older one. We were playmates when we were kids. As we grew up we had a lot of shared interests, and we had the privilege of going to the same schools ever since elementary! We've had our ups and downs like most sisters, but she will always be my sister and built-in best friend! She is never afraid to call me out and always spurs me to love more like Christ. Domo is a bubbly, adventurous, extroverted, passionate, and witty person. We have a bond that is unbreakable, and I'll love her forever.
Bridesmaid
Joana was my bible study leader in Houston, and her roommate just so happened to be Kevin! She and I love to joke with Kevin that we were friends before I ever even became friends with him. I have so many memories with Joana since we've become friends, and I am thankful for all the times she let me stay late to listen to me vent, watch movies, or go on a late night boba run! Joana is a fun, warm, determined person and loves all things that involve interior design and weddings! I am thankful she is not just a friend but my new sister!
Bridesmaid
I met Christine in my freshman year of Chemistry at A&M, and what started as a study group turned into a deep friendship. We found we shared a love for Christ and we became friends through all the address changes and life changes. Christine loves all things Disney and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She picks out the best gifts for others time after time, and I don't know how she does it! Christine is a sincere, kind, encouraging, and comforting person. I'm inspired to be a better friend because of her, and she is the most loving veterinarian you'll ever meet!
Bridesmaid
I met Emery freshman year at A&M in my Chemistry class. She also was in the same study group that Christine was in with me as well. Emery has always been unafraid to take the less traveled route and has always done it with so much grace and bravery. Emery is always laughing, wise, honest, hard working, and a devoted person. I look at her life and the things she has done, and it always amazes me how mature she is. I am so thankful that she has been a prayer warrior for me and loves the Lord in a way that spurs my faith!
Bridesmaid
I met Suchi when I was on an interview at Houston for dental school. Little did I know that we would end up going to the same dental school, sharing the same friend group, and that she also shared a love for Christ. She was the one who invited me to the bible study that Joana led, so I guess maybe she is the real person behind my meeting Kevin! Suchi is entertaining, peaceful, a talented dancer, and a great listener. She is the reason I now watch Korean dramas and watch skincare YouTube videos. She is my free go to "dermatologist" and the person I know who will always be down to dance with me!
Bridesmaid
I met Lisa at A&M in the predental society! It turned out she was also in that same Chemistry class freshman year with Christine and Emery! Even though we both had the same dream of being dentists, I never felt like she was competitive with me. She has always celebrated all my victories and asked how my life was going. Lisa is genuine, caring, considerate, humble, and a curious person. She is never afraid to go the distance when it comes to maintaining our friendship, and she grows my curiosity to know Christ more with all her great questions. She is someone I know is always just a phone call away and will have more great questions that lead to great conversations!
Bridesmaid
I met Susmi at the same time as Suchi! Susmi was the one who I actually sat next to at that dental school interview, and I remember being struck by her style and beauty! Susmi is a generous, servant-hearted, thoughtful, and friendly person. I also have her to thank for keeping me updated with all the latest Tik Toks and styles! Every time I would go over to Suchi and Susmi's apartment, Susmi always made sure that we were fed and never even mentioned a bill to me. She has always made me feel like their home was my home. She was the unofficial "mom" of the group, always thinking of others. She inspired me with these actions, and her love for Christ was displayed through this.
Best Man
I have known Drew since my family moved to Pine Valley Drive when I was five years old. Some of my earliest memories with Drew were playing Capture the Flag and Sardines on our little cul-de-sac which was our world at the time. We went on to be classmates in Mr. Parkert's 2nd grade class at Treasure Hills Elementary and would remain lifelong friends. I often reminisce on the days we would come home from school, drink slushies and eat limon chips from Stripes, and play ping pong. We also got to be doubles partners in tennis and cherished the moments we would see each other on breaks during our college years, creating music together. Through it all, Drew has been my best friend. I know I can always count on him to be there for me whether in person or over the phone.
Groomsman
Scott is the only brother I've ever had! I was so glad when I found out that he and my sister were going to get married and he would be a part of our family forever. Scott is such a kind, faithful, gentle, servant-hearted man of God. I look up to him in his walk with Christ and his pursuit of truth. He has brought so much life to our family, and I look forward to all the holidays I will get to spend with him over the years to come. I'm also excited for our kids to be friends (too soon?). I finally have a brother to watch sports with even though we root for different teams. I am so glad that I was able to stand by his side on his wedding day and that he will be by my side on mine.
Groomsman
Ruben and I actually went to high school together, but it was not until college that we became close friends. We sat next to each other in our freshman Chemistry class at UTPA and have never looked back. We would go on to take many more classes together and eventually became roommates for what would be one of the years of our lives that we would look back on most fondly. The memories are endless: late night runs to get Whataburger shakes, staying up way later than we should have to watch NBA playoff games, cooking steaks on a panini maker (took 2 hours), or inadvertently filling the apartment with smoke while trying to make burgers. He has been a pillar of support and a confidant. Webster's definition of a friend is "one attached to another by affection or esteem." My definition is Ruben.
Groomsman
I've been friends with Ethan since we were Sunday School classmates at First Baptist Church Harlingen when I was two years old. Yes, two! I don't even remember meeting Ethan. In other words, he has always been a part of my life. We would go on to go to the same elementary, middle, and high schools. We got to serve together in the Praise Band at church with Ethan on the saxophone and me on the drums. We have unforgettable memories in middle school band and UIL Math together at Coakley. It wasn't until high school when Ethan and I got very close. He is the person that got me interested in the NBA and in working out. He will always be my fitness role model, but in reality, he is my role model for so much more. He is the most dedicated, driven person I know. I am honored to call him my friend.
Groomsman
Julian, or DJ Joules as I call him, has got to be one of coolest people I know. I met him as a 12th grader when we were interviewing for the UTPA/Baylor program. That day would turn out to be the beginning of an 8-year journey that we would go on together. We were study partners at UTPA. I vividly remember the battles between my Spurs and his Heat in 2013-14 that we watched together (instead of studying). My fondest memory with Julian was the India trip we got to go on together in 2015. Throughout the rigors of med school, Julian remained a close friend and a shoulder I could always lean on. He showed how much he cared by showing up to support me no matter how busy he was. His sense of humor has never failed to make me laugh until my stomach hurts. I am blessed to have him in my life.
Groomsman
Joshua and Jeremy were our only first cousins in America until their sister, Trisha, was born. I miss the summers that we would spend together in either Georgia, Texas, or India as well as the countless hours we have spent next to each other on long interstate road trips. Joshua and I have always shared in our nerdiness, our quirkiness, and our love for Christ. Even though we have grown up, whenever we get together, I feel like I am a kid again. We have inside jokes that have stood the test of time. One of my best, silliest memories with Joshua is when we went to the Coca-Cola museum and drank unlimited soda samples from around the world until we were uncomfortably bloated. He is sincere and sets an example for everyone around him. I'm proud to call him my cousin and brother in Christ.
Groomsman
Jeremy and his brother, Joshua, are the closest things I've had to little brothers. From watching Veggie Tales and Disney Channel as kids to playing Codenames and Avalon as adults, Jeremy and I have always had shared interests. My favorite memories with him include playing Dragon Ball Z on the PS2, knocking down strikes on Wii Bowling, and singing our favorite hymn, "There Is A Balm In Gilead." We've always bonded over our mutual love for music being the only two drummers in our family. He has grown up to be a talented musician and style icon. I've always enjoyed the company of his fun-loving personality. I remember being in the UK with him for our uncle's wedding and laughing endlessly trying to imitate British accents. I'm so glad that he is family and will be a part of my life forever.
Father of the Bride
This is my dad! My daddy has always been invested in my life and has taught me how to play basketball, how to run track, and how to pray during difficult times. He is the reason I first got exposed to dentistry and now we both are dentists! He is truly a man of many crafts. He leverages all of his gifts to bless others, and that is how he honors Christ. He is extremely hard working and extroverted. He is the king of dad jokes, wise, and he has always shown up to support me in every stage of life. He'll forever be my teacher not just in dentistry but in life as well.
Mother of the Bride
She is beauty, and she's grace...she's my momma! But really. My mom is absolutely beautiful and so gracious with everyone. Her love for Christ is so evident by the way she lives, and she always encourages me in my faith when life gets hard. I consider my mom to be my example of what it looks like to be a mother, and I admire so much about her character and how she lives her life. I have literally never seen a more selfless person. She continues to be my role model and confidant no matter how old I get, and I know that's how it will always be. I can call her at any time, and I know she'll pick up. I am blessed to consider her a best friend and call her my mom.
Father of the Groom
My dad is a huge part of the reason I am the person I am today. He passed along so many interests to me such as music and tennis which became passions of mine. However, more importantly, he instilled in me a set of values that I will carry with me throughout my life. I remember hearing from his patients and trainees what a great doctor he is. This has inspired me to strive for greatness. Also, little known fact, he is a master negotiator. He has so much wisdom that he has shared with me over the years and continues to share. Above all, he has always made clear the importance of faith in God and family values. He has always done so much to support our family and make sure that we are taken care of. I have been humbled to have a dad that has been such a constant presence in my life.
Mother of the Groom
I have probably talked to my mom more than any other person in my life. We are incredibly close and have stayed up many nights talking into the wee hours of the morning. She has always been my number one supporter. The way in which she worked as a full-time physician yet still somehow found a way to be a full-time mom is beyond me. She is my real life superhero. The most important example she set for me was to seek first the kingdom of God. She not only told us this firsthand, but she lived it out. She is a prayer warrior just like her mother was. She is the most humble person I know and truly reflects the humility of Christ. She serves everyone else tirelessly out of love expecting nothing in return. I don't have the slightest idea where I would be without the love and guidance of my mom.
Officiant
Pastor Adrian is the pastor of Compassion Church in San Antonio, the father to an adorable little girl, Jacklyn, and married to a beautiful, supportive wife, Shelby. Pastor Adrian is truly a shepherd who would leave the ninety-nine for the one lost sheep. He is compassionate, kind, wise, and intentional. He has never hesitated to encourage me and Kevin and work around our busy schedules. He is the reason Kevin got to lead worship for his first time, has led my parents to grow spiritually, and made time for our premarital counseling in a short amount of time. Pastor Adrian isn't just a pastor to us; he's like family, and we feel blessed to know him.
