FAQs

For the past few years, the numbers of COVID cases have dropped dramatically each summer, and we expect the same thing to happen this year! That means that we think and hope that COVID risk will be far lower by the time of the wedding in June than it will be when we send out our invitations in January. That being said, however, we believe that it is wise and important to be cautious. For the safety of all who attend the wedding, therefore, we are asking that all guests: --be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID at least two weeks prior to the event --receive all booster shots recommended by the CDC between now and June --test negative before you arrive at the venue --stay home if you are experiencing symptoms Please reach out if you would like support getting a test. There are additional details on our website. Thank you so much for helping us all stay safe and healthy! See the FAQs below for answers to more questions, and feel free to reach out about anything we missed.
Question

What should I know about the venue in terms of COVID safety?

Answer

The ceremony is scheduled to take place outside, as is the cocktail hour. The reception is scheduled to be held inside Colby Hill's barn, which features one large door on either side, both of which can remain open. In case of rain, the ceremony and the reception will be held inside the barn. We hope that both barn doors can be kept open regardless of weather! If the conditions are pretty severe, however, we may decide to close one or both - in this case, we would welcome all of our guests to make whatever choice they feel most comfortable with: to stay for all or part of the event wearing a mask, for example, or to skee-daddle and wish us well from afar. As with all aspects of our wedding, what is most important to us is that everyone remains safe and happy! There will be a few children in attendance. We ask that, if you are bringing a child, that they be tested for COVID before arrival.

Question

Will vendors be vaccinated, too?

Answer

Yes! We have been diligent in making sure that our talented and wonderful vendors are also fully vaccinated.

Question

I'm wondering about accessibility at the ceremony...

Answer

The trip from the Colby Hill parking lot to the outdoor space where the ceremony will be held does not include any stairs. The best way to arrive at the ceremony is to make your way from the parking lot, down the curved, dirt road that leads around to the back of the barn. This short walk should take 1-2 minutes on foot. For anyone who would prefer to arrive more directly at the ceremony, we welcome you to drive down the same curved dirt road for a shorter walk. We will have signs posted along the way, as well as someone to help organize and facilitate parking, to make sure that everyone has a place to leave their vehicle. The ceremony will take place out in the open. Please get in touch with us if you would like any particular seating arrangement (in the shade, for example). We will do our best to make sure you can be in a place where you are comfortable, and will reserve seats for anyone who has a particular request.

Question

What about accessibility at the reception?

Answer

The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place in the same outdoor space. Once it is time to make your way into the barn for the reception, it will be best to enter through the back door the barn, which includes a ramp with a railing. Our seating chart will place some guests on the ground level, and others in the mezzanine which is accessible by a 1-story staircase. If you would prefer to be seated on the ground level, but think we might not know that, please get in touch!

Question

Are masks required?

Answer

Masks are not required throughout most of the wedding, but are always welcomed! We ask that masks be worn on the dance floor - we will provide them on the day, but please feel free to bring your own. Other than that, we hope everyone will wear masks whenever they feel more comfortable doing so.

For all the days along the way
