I always wanted to do more, spiritually. LDC being one of my goals, I was eager to have any assignment. I finally got invited to go to a project in Great Barrington, MA. I noticed Liam right away when he walked in with his water bottle in hand. It had stickers on it; I like stickers on my water bottle. He was there for a MS meeting. I had never seen him before. One of the sweet older brothers that was working with me on my project, stopped Liam to talk briefly and introduced him to me. I remember him waving at me. I was intrigued. That was only the beginning...
The second time we met, was to hear a mutual acquaintance give his first Public Talk. I noticed that Liam commented during the Watchtower study, twice. Afterward, I went up to say hello, to him and his friend. There was an exchange of small banter, mostly with his friend, and we went our separate ways. There was quite a crowd of people, but I noticed: He Looked at Me!
One day about a month later, he requested me on Instagram. I was so excited! I commented on his Instagram story, and he ignored it. Then later, he commented on my story, and we started talking from then on! We eventually started sharing Spotify songs, talking, and before he went to Thailand, he asked for my actual digits so he can send me cats and dog pictures! How did he know that the way to my heart was to send me dog pictures? Our friendship grew so deeply, carefully, and spiritually stronger. We are silly, quirky and are so aligned. We are aligned.
Our relationship grew and unfolded into a love that I have never known. So, I didn't recognize it, at first. April 8, 2024, he asked me to watch the Eclipse with some friends. On this historic and extraordinary day, I didn't know it, but Liam had special plans. He wanted to ask me out, officially. He seemed fine all day, until it was time for us to part. He walked me to my car, and I said goodbye, but he kept standing, and then gave me a favorite snack, Golden Oreos. I felt like he wanted to say something. Something. I listened to "I Miss You" by Blink 182, over and over again on the ride home. It still chokes me up thinking about it. He texted me and said he wanted to talk later on... Later arrived, and he nervously, and patiently, asked me out. I felt a range of emotion. I knew this was real, but still I was so surprised, I think, and I didn't know what to say. I delayed. I asked if we could first "Get to know" each other, like we already were doing, but more? ?
We 'got to know each other', more. More service plans, more texting, more sharing music, more Facetime calls, more dates... Then on May 2nd we decided to study an article on dating and courtship. We had the best chaperones, my mom and his mom, at Tunic Coffee shop. As the two of us discussed the article, we agreed, that we were in fact already dating, and made that day, our first Official date. This is the end of the series of "How we Met". The rest is not, "history", as they say, but a new beginning, to the moon, and back!
