We met like any millenial couple.... online through Tinder. We both swiped right mid July of 2016. We chatted for a bit and Brian reccomended mini golf as a first date. This was amusing to me and instantly gave me an insight to his hilarious personality. We did not end up playing mini golf though, we ended up at Applebees in Belvidere. I arrived all dressed up in a lovely summer ensemble and he chose cargo shorts with socks and sandles..... No less than 5 minutes after departing and sharing an awkward hug he messaged asking when we would meet again. Ever since that afternoon we’ve been together, no melodramatic breakups, just loving sarcasm.
To begin this story we had started talking about marriage and rings but Brian was waiting for enough money for a ring he felt I deserved, during this time he would ask me sarcastically “what if I proposed right now?” In various scenarious of our weekly routine like doing the dishes, eating take out, or changing pull-ups. I would always instinctively reply “ you won’t because you don’t have a ring.” Well on April 17, 2019 he did have a ring and proceeded to prove my statement wrong. He then had a heartfelt message of how he cares for me and how much he appreciates my help with Lily and Beckett and that it was only right if they were there. Lily then happily put the ring on my finger (first try was the wrong finger, but we got there) and then I went on to being in shock and calling or texting everyone I needed to inform. We celebrated a few days later at our favorite fancy restaurant The Capital Grille where we had a quite romantic dinner at a table covered in rose petals.
