When We First Laid Eyes on Each Other

August 2009

The two were both home for summer break from college and decided to go out with our friends for the night at the Prime Osborn in Jacksonville. A promoter had started an event called "Playdate," where adults would drink, hangout, and play children's games. From musical chairs to connect four, Mike approached Brittany, wearing a name tag that read "Boyfriend #2." It was a frequently played song from Pleasure P that you just couldn't get out of your head. Mike joked with Brittany about that name tag, and after a few games, he asked for her number when she and her friends decided to leave the event. But, before she could go, he asked could we all get together for food, and everyone headed to Denny's. The two sat next two each other, laughed and joked, he bought her a Shirley Temple and some donut balls, finding his way to her heart. Then the "game was over!"

How Mike Proposed

The Proposal

October 20, 2018 forever changed "the game" for Mike and Brittany. The day started out with Brittany feeling frustrated and fighting Mike about wanting to drive separate cars to Jacksonville. Mike insisted on driving to Jax., so the two could ride together to his brother's "birthday dinner." Mike won the battle and dropped Brittany off to her nail appt. Her friend Tori asked to go to brunch with her and shopping following the appointment. Little did Brittany know, she'd be rushed to get dressed in Tori's clothes since she didn't bring anything to "dress up" for Jaylon's so-called birthday dinner. Tori volunteered to drop Brittany off to the dinner and made detours to Steinmart and Ulta. As they arrived to Stinson Park where Mike and Brittany had spent their 3rd date, her friends were lined up with signs for a scavenger hunt. Her friends lead her to family who were also holding signs relating to the couple's relationship. The last sign read, "He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord," and Brittany held her brother Travis' hand as he walked her over to find Mike on one knee asking for her hand in marriage. She said Yes!
