We are getting married!!!

Our story began July 12, 2014. My friends and I attended a welcome back party unknowingly this party was for one of Ja'Veon's friends. I realized that a few people I went to high school with as well as a guy I knew from Grambling were there too. I spoke, but still didn't notice Ja'Veon After we made our rounds my friend and I went back outside and were sitting on the car talking and Ja'Veon walks up to us and starts talking. I believe somewhere in the conversation it just became me and Ja'Veon talking because my friend went off and left us (thanks Phe). At this point we were having a pretty good conversation. Lloyd walks up to us and tells Ja'Veon that he better not be trying to talk to me. Ja'Veon's response, "It's not even like that, we just talking" (talk about a friend zone). We moved to sit inside his car (doors open) because more and more people started to arrive and it was getting louder outside. We chatted about a little bit of everything. In the end he asked me if he could take me on a date, due to having trips preplanned I knew it would be awhile so I told him this. He still asked for my number, I gave it to him and we parted ways to get back to our friends. He messaged me the next day and the rest is history.

July 12, 2018 Leading up to the date: I want to start this off by saying I told Ja'Veon that he would propose on this day. His response was that he wouldn't be that cliche. Ja'Veon asked me to take off of work so we could celebrate our anniversary. I silently smiled as he tried to come up with a reason why we couldn't just celebrate after I got off. But I happily played along and told him I would put in to be off. The day of: We went and had breakfast that morning and made a quick trip to the mall. We arrived back home and Ja'Veon decided he wanted to take a nap before our 5 o'clock Escape Room reservation. Although I had told him early on that I knew he would propose on this day, I didn't really think anything of it. We had been to Escape Room one other time and agreed that we wanted to go back so it didn't ring any alarms. As he wakes up we start getting dressed. He literally changed clothes like 3 or 4 times (now I know it was nerves). When we enter the building, he speaks to a couple waiting in the lobby. He introduces us and tells me that they were in the military together. Turns out, this is the couple who we will be partnering with in the room (still clueless). As we are working to go through the rooms, Ja'Veon is nervous of course I don't notice as I am trying to find clues to get out of the room. We are close to the end and somehow I ended up being the only one in the room with the lock which gets us out of the room (I'm trying to win). The guy is calling out the directions to me so I can open the door. Once I open the door, Javeon is on one knee on the other side. (inserts tears). All I could literally say was "wow". After I said "yes" I was met with family and friends around the corner. It was really a great moment.
