How We Met...

February 23, 2011

We first met at the ambulance company Fred used to work at, Medic One. I went with a girlfriend to pick up her paycheck at the same ambulance company after we finished working out--we needed a break from studying our nursing school materials after all. Fred had seen us, and in a 'Fred-Like Statement' said, "Who are these girls acting like they own the place!?!?", to which I quickly returned with un-relented sassiness, "Excuse me, I'm no girl--I'm all WOMAN!" After whipping my hair around and prancing off, Fred knew he had to get to know me. A few weeks later, on my birthday, he called me via my girlfriend and we set up our first date a few days later. The rest is history! We have been together since we started talking a long, long, long.....long time ago way back in 2011, but now here we are, finally tying the knot!

THE PROPOSAL

January 25, 2019

I had just finished having an amazing and glamorous 31st birthday brunch with a group of girlfriends prior to coming home for my big surprise from Fred. When I arrived, we immediately took off for the coast; I had no idea where we were going, or what we were doing. After driving, for what seemed like two hours, we ended up in the Marina Del Ray bay. In looking around, all I saw was yachts--in my head I secretly hoped he had not wasted money on renting a yacht. As we walked down the dock, we were greeted by a very nice man, who escorted us to this amazing gondola. It was 4:30 in the evening, and here we were touring the whole bay on this gondola with a beautiful charcuterie plate and chocolates. As the sun started to set, we pulled over to another dock to take pictures. I gave my phone to the gondola driver, and Fred and I moved to the other side of the boat to take better pictures. I was looking for the guy to see how we could pose, and when I turned back there it was, that square velvet box opened up staring at me and as the emotions started stirring along with the story he told of our time together, he finally asked.
