Question

What are some things to do in the city?

Answer

There are a plethora of fun things to do in the city, but here are some of the Bride and Groom's favorites: - Lincoln Park Zoo: and it's free! - Chicago Architecture Tour: Take a boat ride through the city and learn about its history and fun things to do while you are here. - Lake Michigan: There are plenty beaches to enjoy the lake from. We also love the Lake Front Trail. Rent a divvy and take a ride; it's a great way to spend an afternoon. - Shedd Aquarium: Fish! - Museums: There are plenty here; we love the Field Museum. - Visit Wrigley Field: the Cubs play Monday if you are able to stick around an extra day.

Question

What are the location and start time of the ceremony?

Answer

The location is Viceroy Chicago (address is in the Travel section of the website), and the ceremony will start at 5:30 with cocktail hour and reception (and dinner) to follow. We kindly suggest that you be ~15 minutes early to the ceremony so that we can start on time. It is outdoors (weather permitting), so please dress appropriately.

Question

What is the dress code at the ceremony?

Answer

Formal

Question

Are children allowed?

Answer

As much as we love your little ones, due to the size of our venue and guest list, we ask that you do not bring your children.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We are at capacity with our venue, so unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any extra guests beyond those listed on your invite. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

Question

Should I bing a present to the ceremony?

Answer

First of all, no presents are necessary! If you are so inclined, we'd prefer that you stick to our registry (linked on this website). That way, we can coordinate shipping at a time that works best for us.

Question

What is the song that the bride and groom have chosen for their first dance?

Answer

It's going to be a surprise! Fear not, it's an excellent choice.

Question

Is there an open bar?

Answer

There will be an open bar during the cocktail hour and reception but not at the Welcome Party.

Question

What are the details of the Welcome Party?

Answer

All are invited to the Welcome Party! The start time is 6:30 at Hopsmith Chicago (15 W Division St). For those staying at the venue, it's a short walk to the Welcome Party.

Question

Is there a room block?

Answer

Yes - please see the link on the Travel page. We have rooms at the hotel where the ceremony and reception are being held. You may even spot the bride and groom as they plan to stay at the hotel all weekend.

Question

Can I stay at a different hotel than the room block?

Answer

Of course! There are many other options in the same neighborhood, which is called the Gold Coast. We recommend staying close to the venue, as traffic in that area is unpredictable.
