Our story began on a summer night in Starkville, Mississippi that felt completely ordinary. There was a house party at the place I was living, music spilling into the hallways and voices filling every room. Freddie had just transferred from Eastern Washington—new to Mississippi State, new to the South, still figuring things out. Somehow, in the middle of all the noise and unfamiliar faces, he ended up at my door. He knocked, introduced himself with that calm, easy confidence, and we talked briefly. We exchanged numbers, and I left with my friend soon after—but that moment stuck. A week later, we hung out. And from the first second, it felt different. Being together felt effortless. Two athletes at Mississippi State, coming from completely different worlds, somehow falling into the same rhythm. Since then, we’ve been inseparable—attached at the hip, learning, laughing, and building something neither of us saw coming that night.
