How We Met

Alex's cousin Brittany was friends with Morgan in high school and the three of them worked at Party City together. In the spring of 2014, Morgan was looking for a softball team to join and remembered when Brittany and her used to watch Alex and his friends play. She reached out to Brittany and discovered that Alex and his friends were trying to put a softball team together. Morgan contacted him, joined the team and they became good friends. There were many $5 Mug Nights at Average Joe's and 50-cent Wing Specials at Dandelion's where they got to know each other, and eventually started dating.

The Proposal

For their anniversary, Morgan and Alex went to Banff National Park with their friends, Mike and Pat. The night before the flight when Morgan was collecting their passports, she saw a ring box in Alex's drawer. Morgan opened it and found a DSLR memory card inside. Rolling her eyes, she threw it back in the drawer and told Alex he needs to find a better storage system. In Banff, they had researched a trail less traveled that they wanted to hike. After hours of boot scootin' and "are we there, yet?"'s, they ascended to the base of Bow Glacier, which feeds Iceberg Lake. Bow Glacier has reduced by 50% in the past 100 years and may eventually disappear, and it was special to have been able to see it up close. Standing on the shores of Iceberg Lake was magical. Its turquoise color against the surrounding sediment was otherworldly, and because it is a less popular trail, they were completely alone. Before starting their descent, Morgan wanted to take one last video of the glacial lake. Once she was finished, she turned around as he was getting down on his knee, the memory card ring box in hand, and said "yes."
