Sam and Brett had their first date in 2019 at the restaurant Born & Raised in Hamilton. Brett had instantly charmed Sam with his good looks, sense of humour and most importantly a good taste in food and drink. All was going well in the crowded restaurant, vibes were good and conversation was flowing. Conversation flowing so well in fact, that in good Italian nature Brett was conversing with his hands and happened to knock his glass over, spilling red wine on his white shirt and pants. Typically, this was a move reserved for Sam on a first date but after it happened to Brett, she knew that he would be the one. From that first date, Sam and Brett became inseparable. Literally, the COVID-19 pandemic hit just months after they began dating and they quickly found themselves (and their families) together 24-7 in lockdown. The next year consisted of hosting themed dinner nights at either of their parents houses, monopoly fight nights, binging the Sopranos and plenty of walks with Brett's moms dogs Reuben and Macy. When the world finally began opening up again, they became well versed travellers, from local trips to Prince Edward County and Montreal, to multiple trips to Europe fully immersing themselves in all things food, drink and art! In August of 2022 they purchased their first home in St. Catharines and quickly welcomed their cat Dumpling into the home. But they knew they were missing just one more addition to their little family, and they adopted their dog Jasper in the summer of 2023. It is safe to say their lives have been chaotic ever since! After 5 years into dating, Brett FINALLY proposed to Sam at one of their favourite summer spots, Sauble Beach. Just the two of them and Jasper. It was as romantic as it came! They celebrated with Sam's parents shortly after that same day and now they welcome you to their wedding on October 3rd to continue to celebrate their love and life long commitment to one another.
