Every time someone asked, we say we met at a fish fry! But, we lied! There were ‘Plenty of Fish’ where we met, but none were the right catch. We met on the App Plenty of Fish. Travis was on the site for a while, but none of the dates were worth mentioning. Trying to break free from the typical college dating scene, Rachel found herself on the site one Friday afternoon. She matched with Travis moments after joining the app. Rachel sent Travis a private message. She comments on how she liked his profile quote, and the conversation started from there. They found themselves quickly exchanging numbers on the site, then texted, talked on the phone, and Facetimed; all in one night! They shared their war stories of dating in their 20s and laughed a lot on the phone. Rachel mentioned that many men were inconsistent and did not take girls on REAL dates in their discussions. Travis told Rachel that he was always known for being a “Man of His Word” and would take her out that Monday. Rachel laughed it off in their conversation, sure that he wouldn’t follow through. Travis's plans were to have Thai food then hang out on Brooklyn Promenade. That Monday, Travis texted Rachel when to be ready for the date. As Rachel prepared for the date, she thought this guy was too good to be true. What if his breath stank!? Travis got ready for a date that he thought would end up being also forgettable. During their date at a Thai Restaurant, the couple had a great time. Their conversation led them the Brooklyn Promenade. They had so much fun they “Whipped and Nae Nae” in sync, mid convo! Travis and Rachel wanted to continue their time together, so Travis asked to take her out the next day. The second date went well. Shocked by this consistency, Rachel offers to pay for the third date; however, Travis insisted. They took a whole 24-hour break for their fourth date. They slowly realized that Travis was the consistency Rachel needed, and Rachel was the fun that Travis needed.
