We met on Hinge, both looking for that someone special. I probably wouldn't have received much attention, but as the photo I liked had her beloved dog Bella in it, I got my chance at a first date. We went for dinner in Venice, both deciding to drive so we had a potential quick escape route, but we stayed so long we were the last ones there. We even ordered tea to prolong the date when we couldn't have any more to drink. I awkwardly said I'd walk Tristan to her car, even though it was only 20 ft away, to grab the first kiss of many.
We had planned a 2 week tour of Italy and I was getting nudges asking if I was going to pop the question. I knew Tristan was probably getting the same but I wanted it to be a surprise, so I told her I didn't have any money to buy a ring and not to be disappointed when it didn't happen. The second stop on the trip was Lake Como, and I had booked a boat for us to drive around the lake all day. Despite the weather report saying we'd have thunderstorms, we had beautiful sunshine, so I took the chance to anchor the boat and ask the love of my life to marry me.
