The couple first met back in January of 2015 when Steph was a senior in college at UNH taking a winter course to learn about heart rhythms. Fraser, who had just accepted a position as a nurse on a cardiac floor, wanted to fine tune his skills. The two met briefly, talked about post-grad life and went their separate ways. A few months later, the two were on an online dating app called “Tinder” where they reconnected. Steph immediately remembered that this was the same guy who she met at UNH and after some chatting back and forth, Fraser asked her on their first date. The two went to Portsmouth, NH where they got a drink at Surf, the Portsmouth Brewery, and a now closed bar, The Red Door. Right away, Fraser and Steph had a connection and knew there would be more dates in the future. Finally after a Reggae concert in Rhode Island, they decided to make it official. Fraser and Steph both worked at the same hospital on different units before Steph transferred and worked on the cardiac unit with him. After some encouragement, Fraser transitioned to day shift and the two ended up moving into an apartment together in Manchester, NH. Travel nursing was something that they wanted to do but were unsure if they were ready. They discussed it for a while and decided to make the leap in September of 2017. They packed up their apartment, moved some furniture to their parents’ homes, and left for their first assignment in Greenville, NC. The couple traveled all over the U.S, including Tucson AZ, Denver CO, Eau Claire WI, San Jose CA, and finally, Burlington VT. Fraser and Steph loved living in all these different cities and met some amazing people along the way; many of which they hope to see at the wedding. The two have now taken a break from travel life and settled in Burlington Vermont where they work as surgical ICU nurses at the UVM Medical Center. When they’re not out exploring the area, they’re snuggled up on the couch with their two cats, Gris & Luz.
