Our story is certainly one of coincidence and not the "meet cute" kind you see in movies. We date back to the spring of 2018, just two crazy college kids looking forward to a fun weekend with their friends. Fortunately, this weekend was unlike any other and fell during a K-State tradition of Fake Patty's Day ( a holiday invented by kstaters to ensure they did not miss out on any partying during spring break). Had it not been for Fake 2018, Patrick may have never made the long hour-and-a-half journey to Manhattan, KS - the little apple. Little did they both know then that in the wee hours of the night, while standing in line at an overcrowded bar, they would meet someone who they would eventually marry. Patrick was quick to ask Frantina's friend who she was but his efforts did not deem successful. However, Patrick is persistent and wasn't ready to strike out just yet, when Frantina separated from her friends to go get a drink Patrick made his second move (how he found her amongst hundreds in a Johnny Kaws is a true miracle). After some sweet talking, they exchanged numbers and parted ways until running into each other again later in the night. Having seen each other this many times in one night when everything is so crowded peaked both of their interests and caused their chemistry to grow on the spot. Flash forward a few weeks and Patrick is regularly making the drive up to Manhattan to go on dates, take a trip to the zoo, and even just study together. About two months after meeting they were both taken with one another and certainly ignoring the elephant in the room. This elephant was that in a few weeks Patrick was graduating from Central Christian College and moving back to El Paso TX while Frantina was set to move to Tampa FL for an internship. I think we all know that this didn't end up stopping them. Over the next three and a half years these two became long-distance pros from Tampa to Manhattan, Dallas, to Raleigh back to Tampa, and eventually having Frantina land in Alabama. Once Patrick finished Chiropractic school in Dallas he too was able to make the move to Huntsville where a year later they purchased their first home and are planning their wedding. This happy ending makes every late-night phone call, long drives, so so many flights, and missed milestones along the way all so incredibly worth it and they cannot wait to embark on this new chapter of our journey, together.
