The Girl with the Long Brown Hair - Christian Frans

How it all started... There was a time before us, although it feels so long ago now. We just had chance meetings every now and then but never anything more. We were chosen to be Homecoming Reps and that all changed. Even though I was with someone else we got a lot closer. She was no longer the girl that was always with Madison. She became Abbie Sewell: my friend. I definitely had a small crush on the long brown-haired girl I worked with. After some time "friend" wasn't going to cut it. A friend gave me a list of good girls to go after. I had already tried to catch the eye of the girl with the long brown hair but failed. As I worked through the list and found all the lucky girls, one person stood out. Somehow I knew that that one name was the name that I wanted. I wrote her name down and that was it. That night I went to cheer her on at a basketball game. Little did she know I was there for her the girl with long brown hair. A friend had told me that we were going out to celebrate his birthday that week. I jumped at the chance to ask her to come with me. There was something new in my life that I wanted to discover. We started hanging out more and more. We took small trips to waffle house or to get stuck in the mud. Just little things like that for a little while. Then things got better and at our club retreat and everything changed. The brown-haired girl with a gorgeous smile was perfect. I knew that I just couldn't miss it. The something about her only grew from there, I was hooked. As things progressed we began to see each other more and even went on our first date. I couldn't believe my luck, I had found what I was looking for. I had found the one, the one to spend forever with. The one to call when I felt alone, the one to hold when all was wrong. The one to worship with, the one to stay up late with. The one who will laugh with me, the one who will cry with me. The one who makes me be all I want to be. The girl with the long brown hair. My one my only!

The Proposal - Told Through Abbie's Eyes

3/19/2020

From the beginning, I knew this boy was special. So, naturally, we dreamed and talked about when we would get married. Now, from a very young age, I have been extremely hard to surprise... My mom can attest to this. I seem to stumble upon information and I ruin surprises for myself with ease. I made sure Christian knew this because I did not want to ruin a surprise that I thought probably would be coming soon. Honestly, I thought I had the proposal pinned several times...but boy am I glad I was wrong. On Thursday, March 19th, Christian had convinced me that we were going to go to the botanical gardens in Memphis. My friends were in on it too, so they convinced me to go take some senior pictures with them around campus. This was to ensure I was dressed and my hair and makeup were done. After we took pictures, Christian came and picked me up and told me that the restaurant called him and told him that they would have to cancel due to COVID 19. Then, he asked if I wanted to go eat in Jackson, which I replied: "yes, but can we go see Mrs. Gover first?" When we pulled up to Mrs. Gover's house, there were a lot more cars there than I was expecting. I should have been suspicious then, but I was clueless. When we went inside it was completely empty, so I headed straight to the back porch. I still suspected nothing until I opened the door where I was met with a long line of friends and family waiting on us. They were forming a pathway down to the dock where a picnic basket and flowers were waiting for us. Mrs. Gover was at the top of the porch waiting on us, a few hugs later and we were walking down to the rest of our lives. On that dock are some moments I will cherish forever. My best friend got on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. It was easily the best day ever. I am so lucky to have found my forever.

For all the days along the way
