You're not visiting Daniel and Frankie without at least one of them trying to get you into rock climbing.
Sweet port town that gives you beautiful views on the drive (or ride! The train is a great time!). Fishy smells and ocean breeze, hurray! Resurrect Art Coffee House is a good stop for coffee, bakery treats, and local art. The Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward is part aquarium and part marine habilitation, and worth a visit to learn about the critters that live off the shore of Alaska. Lowell Point (via Caines Head trailhead) at low tide sometimes brings in jellyfish to the beach. You can find tiny crabs and snails in the tide pools as well!
Quaint town with many small shops and vendors, trails access, and a quick walk across the railroad bridge takes you to the river beach. Low tide brings some soft sand and driftwood for a seat. Don't forget to try your luck at spotting Denali from the several pullouts on the way up :)
