In true gen-z fashion, Steven and Angelina met on a dating app in November of 2019. After texting back and forth for less than 24 hours, Angelina went over to Steven’s mom’s house after an evening shift at work for their very non-traditional first date, much to her mother’s dismay. This “date” involved watching criminal minds (the show Angelina was currently binging) and talking about anything and everything until the early hours of the morning. The sparks were instant, and they hung out together nearly every day. About a week later, on November 21st, 2019, Steven asked Angelina to be his girlfriend. From that time to July of 2024, Steven and Angelina had gone through many life changes together, from moving in with each other, Angelina going to college, adopting a dog, and a few job changes. Angelina had always told Steven she wanted to be engaged before finishing college, and on July 28th, 2024, just two weeks shy of her graduation, the time finally came. Steven had planned a picnic for the two of them at a park in Rocky River with a beautiful view of the lake. Of course, Angelina guessed that he might pop the question then, but as the night went on and she could barely see Steven despite the soft glow of the twinkle lights surrounding them, she wasn’t so sure. Angelina stood up to put her shoes back on so they could go get a closer view of the lake and when she turned back around, Steven was down on one knee. To this day she truly can’t remember much of what he said due to the overwhelming emotions. But she does remember it being the easiest “yes” of her life.
