Our wedding venue is in Arlington Vermont but right next door is Manchester. There is so much to do so we suggest making a weekend out of it! Hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, shopping, museums, food & more!

Hiking

Hiking is available on the Appalachian and Long Trails, just miles from the Inn. You can also visit Merck Forest and Farmland Center in Rupert with 2900 acres of woodland, meadows, ponds and streams. American Museum of Fly Fishing

Whether you are a novice, a serious student of angling or just a lover of beautifully crafted objects, you will be fascinated by the museums’ collections of 1,000 rods, 400 reels, thousands of flies and countless other rare items. The museum is located on RT 7A in Manchester. Just down the street is the Orvis outlet store and fly fishing school if you want to schedule a private or group lesson.

Norman Rockwell Exhibition

The great American artist Norman Rockwell lived in Arlington on the Battenkill river just down the road from the Inn from 1939 to 1953; 14 of his most productive years. Indeed the residents of Arlington served as both inspiration and models for Rockwell’s work. Although occupied by their current owners and not open to the public, you can walk to Rockwell’s two homes on River Road. You can also visit the small Norman Rockwell exhibition in town, located at the Sugar Shack.

Bromley & Stratton Mountains in the Summer

Mount Equinox Skyline Drive

Enjoy a drive up Equinox, 5.2 miles. The longest privately owned paved toll road in the United States.

Covered Bridges

Within a very short distance of the Inn, there are two covered bridges. Bridge on the Green/Arlington Bridge just out our drive and turn left onto route 313 about 3.2 miles, the water is deep enough to take a swim as well. Chiselville Bridge is in East Arlington, out our drive and up to Rte. 7, take a right and then a left. About 1.6 miles.
