ABOUT THE BREAKERS
Founded on the sands of Palm Beach in 1896, The Breakers is an iconic oceanfront retreat, named for its dramatic position where waves broke along the shore.
After fires in 1903 and 1925, The Breakers was rebuilt each time with greater splendor. Created by visionary Henry M. Flagler and reborn in 1926 with italian-inspired grandeur, the resort blends historic charm with effortless elegance. 2026 marks 100 years since their reopening!
For generations, world leaders, socialites, and families have gathered here to celebrate life’s most meaningful occasions. At any given time, the guest register read like a “who's who” of early 20th-century America: Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, Astors, Andrew Carnegie and J.P. Morgan, vacationing alongside US presidents and European nobility. Today, The Breakers offers timeless luxury, warm hospitality, and a breathtaking backdrop for love stories, cherished memories, and celebrations that last a lifetime.
