We first met through a mutual friend and spent our first day together at youth group alongside friends. From the beginning, there was an easy friendship between us. My first impression of him was that he was genuinely sweet, and I found myself wanting to be his best friend. Over time, our friendship grew as we talked about life, faith, and everything in between. Not long after, he shared that he wanted something more serious, but I wasn’t in a place to begin a relationship. There was a season where life took us in different directions, but even then, our story never felt completely finished. Eventually, God brought us back into each other’s lives in a new way. What felt different the second time wasn’t just timing, but growth—we were both learning, changing, and becoming more of who we were meant to be. As we reconnected, so did our desire to build something intentional together. In a small, unexpected moment, what had always been there quietly became something more. Not long into our relationship, life moved quickly as we graduated and stepped into adulthood. In the middle of that season, we found out we were expecting our son. It was a life-changing moment that reshaped everything and deepened our responsibility, love, and dependence on God. We’ve spent the time since learning how to grow together—not just as a couple, but as parents. We currently live in a home we’re renting while we search and pray for what’s next, trusting God to guide each step. There have been challenges, learning curves, and moments that required grace we didn’t always feel strong enough to give—but God has been faithful through all of it. At the center of our story is Him. We don’t see this journey as perfect or polished, but as one that has been shaped, held together, and continually refined by God’s hand. We’re grateful for where we’ve been, where we are, and where He’s leading us as we continue building our life and family together.
