How we Met

Frankie's Side

We met on the second day of classes. It was a hot walk up to Econ 101 to the fourth floor of St. Ben's. I saw a very nerdy looking freshman ahead of me, and just knew he was going to the same class I was. I thought he was kinda cute in the nerdy sort of way, but then again, many guys I saw on campus were cute in one way or another. So of course, my instincts were right and he plopped down in a seat and I had to make a decision quick: was I going to be stuck sitting next to an awkward nerdy kid who will probably end up having a crush on me or do I take my chances and pick a seat across the room? I decided not to be judgmental about a guy I've never met and sat down next to him. After class, he was a little more than complimentary, noting that I must be smart for taking Latin and using a very organized binder for classes. We ended up having a really good conversation though. It was easy to talk to him and I knew from that point on I wanted to be friends with Lucas.

How we Met

Lucas's Side

I only met Francesca Kopacz once, but I could tell right away she was up to no good. The year was 2016. The day? A hot June weekend designed to lower the guard of incoming freshmen. The place was some rundown venue known as Benedictine College. I was playing volleyball when I saw her on the opposite court: a blonde beauty, wearing a blue hoodie in June. She hung with a crowd that gave me the willies: Paul Johnson and the like, so I avoided her and forgot about the incident until a fateful day that August. Flash-forward to the second day of classes. Picture: a youth sitting in class his professor calls the "art appreciation of economics", waiting to learn things he's known for years. In she walks, the mysterious woman from months prior. She's seems much more down to earth than during her last appearance, and after scanning the room, sits next to him. He's starstruck. He tries to compliment her and introduce himself. She roasts him incessantly that day. And the next. And the next. And the next. Up to and during the proposal.
